Verdict — Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 wins
At today's prices the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 wins for the storm-prep buyer by a wider margin than in July: $230 less for more watt-hours, and a fridge never notices the slower switchover. The Delta 3 Plus is still the better-engineered box, and still the right buy if it will live under your desk as a UPS or feed off serious solar — but EcoFlow now lists the base unit as a November pre-order, which rules it out as storm prep this season.
This is the comparison most people search by brand, so let's be precise about which boxes are actually on the shelf in 2026: EcoFlow's 1kWh-class unit is now the Delta 3 Plus (the Delta 2 is gone from the US store), and Jackery's is the Explorer 1000 v2. Both are LiFePO4, both are current, and they are priced $230 apart today — up from $190 in July, because the EcoFlow went up $30 and the Jackery came down $10 at the cheapest retailer that stocks it. That gap is where the math starts.
The value math
Divide price by rated capacity and the gap is stark: $0.46 per watt-hour for the Jackery against $0.70 for the EcoFlow. The Jackery also simply holds more energy — 1,070Wh rated (~910 usable) against 1,024Wh (~870 usable). For the core storm-prep job — keep the fridge, the CPAP, and the router alive overnight — both deliver the same ~11–12 hours on our 77W household trio estimate, and the Jackery does it for less money in a lighter box.
The caveat the ledger makes visible: the Jackery's edge is partly a sale. Both units list at $799; at list price the value argument collapses to a coin flip and the EcoFlow's hardware advantages take over.
What the extra $230 actually buys
The Delta 3 Plus is the better machine on almost every spec that isn't capacity or price: twice the AC outlets (6 vs 3), an under-10ms transfer that makes it a legitimate UPS for a desktop or NAS, a 56-minute full recharge, 140W USB-C ports that fast-charge laptops, a 1,000W solar ceiling, and an expansion port that takes it to 5kWh later. The Jackery answers with none of that — its pitch is maximum stored energy per dollar in the lightest package, full stop.
Who should buy which
Buy the Explorer 1000 v2 if this battery's job is to sit charged in a closet and come out when ERCOT has a bad week. Capacity per dollar is the only stat that matters for that job, and it wins that stat outright today.
Buy the Delta 3 Plus if the unit will work between outages — as a UPS under a desk, as the hub of a small solar setup, or as the first block of a system you plan to expand. Those are real jobs the Jackery structurally can't do, and $230 is still a defensible price for them. One caveat that outranks the math this month: EcoFlow's store lists the base Delta 3 Plus as a pre-order shipping in November, so if you are buying for this hurricane season, it is not a candidate at any price.
